FRIENDSHIP

On a bright, sunny day where there is an old- brown wooden house which I and my mom lives there. Every 9 o'clock in the morning, I will ride on my bike to school and say goodbye to my mom everyday every time I went out.

During recess time, I'll hung out with my friends to the canteen for lunch. Although I'm a quiet person, we still talk together without feeling awkward when it comes to having a talkative friend.

After school, I went home and helped out my mom on the dishes, cooking, throwing out the trash, and some other chores.

One day at the school canteen, when I was at the queue, waiting to make my order. When my turn has come, I reach out my pocket to get my wallet. I was triggered. I then realize I left my wallet at home. Everyone behind me is still waiting for my order until a person yelling at me to hurry up. I started to panic. Suddenly a friend of mine went up to me and ask if everything's alright. I said to him that I've forgotten my wallet. Without hesitation, he went up to the counter and paid lunch for both of us. I was relived. He then invites me to have lunch together. While we were eating, I then thank and promise him that I will pay him back soon. He then refuses. Saying that the lunch is his treat. I was truly grateful.

As time flies, I became an adult and started living on my own without my mom. I worked as a programmer. Some of my old school friends from the past also became programmers which made me felt more happier and not lonely.

One day I got a letter from my boss. Out of curiosity, I immediately opened the letter and read it till the end. My heart sank. I was fired. I took out my phone and call my mom but she didn't pick up. So I then drove to her house and rang the doorbell but there was nothing but silence. I knocked the door but it's unlocked. I began to panic-stricken. I rush into the house, went to the kitchen and saw her laying on the floor. I was thunderstruck. She's having a high fever. I immediately brought her to the hospital. I was told by the doctor that it is uncertain on when she'll be recovered. I was depressed. What worries me is the medical insurance. It will most likely gonna cost me more than I own in cash. One way is to ask my friends for some money. I hesitated, but I didn't have a choice.

After contacting them, I waited. After several days, unfortunately, I received nothing. I then realized all of my friends had ghosted me. My heart shattered. I went to a store to get a drink. I felt miserable. A person came up to me to say hi. I was astonished. It was the same friend that bought me lunch back in the day when I was in high school. I told him everything that happened to me and my mom. My friend went silent. A few moments later he stood up and told me that he will settle the medical insurance. I had no words. He was the only true friend that I have and will never forget after all the things he has done for me.

After everything is settled, I've finally learned that having a loyal friend doesn't just makes happy, but they will always be by your side.
